tomas hit his head right before bed and got a goose egg right away. happy to report that it did go away before school started in 4 days

1st day of school was quite eventful for us all, even papa bear went with us to drop him off. yes, tomas cried when we left him and throughout the day but his teachers say he is improving by crying less each week

we took the armendariz clan to the second tcu home game and had tons of fun, thanks for joining us! tomas could not believe that all the popcorn was gone

play date at the kuhlman's-tomas got to play with lincoln and beau, papa bear got to watch the cowboys game with kevin, eric, & casey and mama got to catch up with monica, samantha & hailey

after his bath tomas likes to play on papa's keyboard a bit and doesn't like that he has to take turns with papa and the feeling is mutual, papa doesn't like to split his practice time with mr.t either

we knew this was gonna happen once t started school, he was gonna get sick. in his 19 months of life, this is only the second time he has gotten sick, even though he eats stuff off the ground inside and outside, has babygirl all up in his face and still puts everything in his mouth. mama felt so bad for him he got ice cream for snack one day

we had been dealing with jet's illness for under a year and he declined quickly from june to september. we sent jetsy to pet heaven on friday 9/7. these are a few of the last photos we got of the three of our babies together at the end of august (about a week before he passed away). jet always let t rough-house with him. we all still look around for jet, toms even got a bag of his treats and searched all around the house and closets for his jetsyboy...

summer fun days for all of us. it is good that tomas likes to be outside as much as mama bear does cause we have so much fun running around. these are from different days out in august

18 month exam went great! tomas is still in the 90th for height, 50th for weight (even though he eats plenty, must be all the running & climbing he does all day looong) and yippy-skippy his head has moved up to the 25th (but we still call him peanut head). mama still hates to see him cry when the needle goes in but he seems to recover quicker than she does and is okay by the time his pants are back on

thanks to all of you who joined us for yaya's 35th surprise b-day party, we are thankful you joined us even though we got rained in (the photo was one mr.t took on the actual b-day)

t will be starting school in september, just one day a week. and we had his classroom visit at the end of the month for him to get a one-on-two with his teachers (ms.danielle & ms.kim) and play around in his classroom before the first day

happy b-day america! we had a cookout and swim at yaya's. tomas is sooo wild and strong he would climb out of the pool all by himself.

tomas, yaya, wama and mama made a quick trip down i-35 to be with the family for cousin gerardito's services in eagle pass. we did 1000 miles in less than 48 hours but are grateful to be able to have been with the family through this. we love you all tio, tia, bettina and of course gerardito!

arriving at our overnight stop in san antonio. we headed to eagle pass the next day and were in austin by night, to return to dfw after a good nights rest and breakfast

17 months on 7/23 and got his first taste of oreos. mama bought some since it is the 100 year anniversary, how could we resist-mr.t found them in the pantry, so he could not resist either

at the end of the month we took a trip to el paso to visit with family and see friends. this was tom-tom's first flight and he did super going but had a difficult time on the way back, so it will be some time before we try another flight

he found the stash of our target popcorn before bed-yummy. it took mr.t no time at all to get our hotel room looking like we'd been there a month

papa brought home the golf champion shirt, sure nino & pappy want a rematch soon

and what a peaceful walk the family had at mt.cristo rey. we made the trip to honor mariaelena's request. mama forgot the sling so we took turns carrying tomas all the way up and during his nap down

what a soul searching type of summer kevonica & co. had this year, we had two cousins and a family friend leave us, mama carmen's one year anniversary-please pray for all of them that they finally be at peace in heaven and for the family & friends they have left on earth-and in september we had to send our beloved jet to be with them too (those of you who have pets know just how losing one of the family-house members feels), so please forgive us for the delay in posts. but through all hardships, comes an appreciation for the blessings we do have!

that brings us to some memorable june moments...

we were going to have tomas's first flight to albuquerque for mariaelena's mass, however the flight kept getting delayed and was not supposed to depart until close to 11pm cst. so, after checking our bags, going through security, eating a quick din-din standing up and people watching we decided after the last delay that we needed to turn back and get tomas to bed. instead, this was his first trip to the airport to sight-see only!

bacon for father's day by request of tomas's papa (kevin has lost his identity since tom-tom came around) and think it was a hit with tomas himself. mama put on the aggie gear as a bonus.

we get to share two family b-days together, wama and babygirl, on 6/14

and we celebrated mama carmen's one year anniversary on 6/18 by having a small graveside committal service. there is not a day we don't miss her and still can't believe that she is not just a phone call away but we always have the love we share with her to keep us keeping on. yaya had sent this to tomas and i think we all feel the same way, including mama carmen-tomas was her reason to fight as hard as she did until her last breath. love you mama from here to the sky!

since yaya is off from teaching for the summer she is working with papa at the office, it is busy season afterall. we made a visit to see all the gfc gang and eat lunchy w/papa

mr.t got busy learning how to work on spreadsheets and accidentally erased the payroll timesheets yaya was working on. oopsy

we headed on our first ever family ikea trip and yaya got some photos of the occassion

pappy & gma sent tomas a fun outdoor gift, since he's always trying to play with the water in babygirl's bowl

it took us a couple of weeks to getting around to putting the legs on, and it will be just a while longer to get all the "bells & whistles" going. nonetheless, mr.t had a great time playing with the table and mama's watering can. we even caught babygirl drinking from his table since it is at the perfect height for her. he was so wet in the front, off the clothes came once inside and he was so hungry he couldn't wait for us to get his food ready he had to have some of babygirl's.
