we started off march with a celebration-wama returned after being gone almost 2 months to help care for buela and mama carmen's 61st bday all the same day (3/3) yummy ice cream cake was a must. tomas does good throwing his ball in and then kicking it-futbol (soccer) player in the making...and since it is getting warm, he prefers to have on as little clothes as possible. so onesies are a good option cause he will not yank those off but we are gonna need some giant onesies pretty soon

and the very next day, tomas gave mama two black eyes and a swollen face. we were playing & singing on the bed when he got so excited that he accidentally dropped a 2lbs weight he had in one hand splat in between mama's eyes. it swelled right away and black eyes appeared a few days later. the black eyes lasted about 2 weeks and a month later there is still some swelling. and yes, it did hurt

even though mr.t has had most of his teeth since before he was 1 we had not been to the dentist (he is just so difficult to keep in one place) but it was time. he did okay considering he is a tomas and his dentist was really great with him (thanks dr. holly for being so gentle with our little man)

good thing for mama bear that tom-tom is a super eater and eats most everything he is given. one of his favorites has been yaya & mama bear's tuna surprise-add goldfish and chocolate milk, he was in hog heaven. and we have been eating it more than before since we were in lent

 

as stated before, if he can take off his clothes he will. this time he only got to take off his pants before we went inside. there were several days he was out that he got down to his bday suit but papa bear frowns on showing mr.t's nakey bum even though the photos are sooo cute

february 2013

it was a great big month of celebrating tomas and his addition to our family-our cup runneth over tomas

since we have not had any professional shots of him yet, we had courtney (wonderlove photography) take some for his second birthday-wow-wee 2 years strong

he never did fully recover from being sick in december and had it linger until the beginning of february. we had not gone to the doctor because he did not have a fever. when he is sick, he gets to have "treats"-he was so excited to get ice cream but apparently didn't like the sherbet and returned it. but was quite satisfied with classic vanilla bean

even mini oreos couldn't perk our little guy up. we finally went to the doctor and made a full recovery before bday week

tom-tom was feeling better...he got downstairs before mama and got into the fridge and...needless to say both mama and mr.t shed a few tears that day. the fridge has since been locked-up

his two year exam went super, he didn't have to get any shots and he is in tip-top condition (minus the no talking yet)! he was 37" tall and 31 lbs strong. he is well on track to break the 6' mark his papa wants

thanks to all who shared his birthday with him at his party-these are the occasions and memories we hope tomas holds onto for all his life and thank you for the book donations, they will be appreciated by many!

we have gotten his big-boy mattress and are making the transition by having his crib and mattress in his room. he loves that he has a larger mattress to jump on now. his bed will be delivered soon, so stay tuned

baby girl had the cutest little pink bow in her hair after her visit to the spa, she kept it on a hole 10 minutes after we got home

this is the kind of mess we pick up after the texas tornado tomas hits about 5 times a day

one cutie was not enough, two cuties were not enough, three...

december 2012

tom-tom has been a crib jumper since he was 16 months old and we finally got some shots of him getting back in. he will soon be getting his big-boy bed

mr.t got sick a few days before christmas, so our scheduled san antonio trip was postponed a few days. he got to open his gifts in between his sleepy time cause when he is sick sleep comes in 2-3 hour periods until he feels better. hate to see him sick

we did make it to sa a couple of days late. since he was sick mama bear sat in the back with him for half of the drive down to keep him company (he was getting restless being in the car)

we got to open more gifts when we got to there and more important, we got to see the family

the next day-gma, eliana, papa bear, tomas and mama bear went to the sa children's museum

november 2012

instead of costumes, they have pj day at tomas's school and since he goes on thursdays he got to wear his jammies on 11/1 and go get treats around the halls of school

and we got our own tcu flapper in little mr.t

we had thanksgiving here at casa carrollton and give thanks to god for all the blessings we have! and so excited that tcu went to austin and beat those stinky longhorns

tomas was being a silly boy getting in the paper recycle container and thought it was so funny when we told him we were gonna take out the "recycling" (he loves plaid shorts)

october 2012

okay, okay we are a little behind, where does the time go...tomas keeps us pretty busy during the week (i think he has the energy of three kids, even folks with kids tell us he is a busy body) and the weekends are a catch-up for all the stuff that doesn't get done during the week and we finally get to spend family time with papa, so the computer hardly gets turned on...nonetheless, here are the last few months highlights for you to enjoy!

even though he only goes one day a week, they had picture day for the little ones.  courtney engle of wonderlove photography did a superb job! (i don't know how she managed to get him to stay still for more than one photo)

papa somehow managed to break away for two golf trips in october. the first was with tio santos (randy) and pappy to play with uncle jeff, uncle danny and kyle. the young-guns managed to out play the more mature whiteners and kevin brought some money home

in between papa's golf outings, we made a trip to the state fair of texas, so tomas has gone every year of his life (a whole 2 times). yaya went with us this year and between the three of us we were able to somewhat corral mr.t. we had another enjoyable ride on the train and got to see all the beautiful animals. the highlight for this year was that tomas was tall enough to go on his first ride, and he loved it so much. the smile on his face was magical!

 we happened to go the last day big-tex was still in one piece, the day before the fire...

tomas not only made mama go through his little tunnel, he then thought it would be so funny to go in while she was still trying to squeeze out and papa was there to capture it all

during papa's second golf trip to san antonio-tomas, yaya and i went to pick-up some taco diner and mama bear got to drink a mambo-taxi while we waited for our food (since we had a yaya with us)

and our month concluded with our annual lls light-the-night walk. we continue to pray for all those fighting this most difficult of fights and for those who are now at rest we miss and love you. and a most grateful heart to those of you who donated, the money given goes to helping so many in need at such a difficult time-thank you.
